Let’s be honest: it isn’t easy dealing with any chronic condition or disease. Some people are able to handle it better than others, but it will still be a struggle for them. When I first found out I had psoriasis four years ago, I was really bummed out. Knowing you are going to be dealing with this thing for life just makes you feel a little defeated. I will reveal the things I do and have learned over the years in hopes of helping those struggling with psoriasis.
The first thing I recommend with psoriasis is to not get overly excited when a cream, solution, or shampoo works really well on your skin. First of all, psoriasis is an immune disease, which means the problems with your body are internal. An external agent is only going to help the skin, not the actual problem itself. The reason I say not to get too excited about those things is that they generally work very well for a short period of time, and then sort of become less effective. I have no clue why this is. Maybe because the skin isn’t used to to so it responds better at the beginning – I am not really sure.
Also, as I mentioned, psoriasis is an internal struggle. We need to give our bodies the proper nutrition to be able to properly battle this skin condition.
